This week was wonderful. Although I was a little discouraged and scared to be here in Colatina when I arrived (especially because of all of the hills), I am starting to really appreciate the time that I have to serve in this area. The members here are a lot more motivated and have been helping us and giving us more references and visiting more investigators with us. I can handle climbing all of the hills and staircases every day. And we have a lot of miracles happening here recently.
Five people came to church yesterday and the majority of them were friends of members. Irmã Delizete invited a friend (Flávia) for the first time and she loved the church and the gospel principles class. She even made a few comments during the lesson. We'll be visiting her tonight with Delizete. Also, we've been teaching a less-active (Evanilda) since she's been wanting to become active again and her husband (Gilmar) isn't a member. They came to church yesterday and Gilmar loved it, and every time that we've visited them, members have come with us. Josimara and Dulcineia are investigators who have been coming to church and have been taught for a while. They both have boyfriends who are members, but have never wanted to be baptized. We are planning to visit with Josimara and her sister this week.
Also, we have been teaching Elissangela. We met her a couple of weeks ago and she has progressed really quickly. She came to church yesterday and really liked it. She loves the Book of Mormon and every time she sees us, she asks us to mark a different part for her to read. The only problem is that she isn't married legally and her husband doesn't want to. We've been trying to meet with him too, but he works a lot and he's never at home or available when we pass by to meet with Elissangela. Hopefully, we'll be able to meet him this week.
I got to do divisions this week with Sister Carvalho! She's awesome and she's from Portugal and I learned a lot from her and she said that I've progressed a lot. I love doing divisions because they help me focus on the things that I need to improve and I always learn so much from the sisteres treinadoras.
This week was filled with miracles and I am truly grateful for the opportunity that I have to be a missionary and to see these blesssings come to pass.
Eu amo vocês!!!
Com amor,
